    Neck Lift

Neck lift is a surgical procedure that supports facial rejuvenation by correcting the sagging and wrinkled skin of the face and neck. The signs of aging appear with the loosened and cracked skin on the neck, as in other parts of the body. If sagging and wrinkled skin is seen on your neck, immediate intervention will give the best result. Neck lift is intended to tighten the skin by suspending the sagging and loosened skin of the neck to the appropriate positions, and removing its excess part. Neck lift is a surgical procedure that can be performed under local or general anesthesia. The patient can be discharged immediately after surgery because he/she feels no pain and does not encounter any other problems. After surgery, sutures are removed after 5 to 7 days, and then the patient can get back to his/her normal life and work.

    Neck Lift Frequently Asked Questions

Neck lift operations are usually performed in conjunction with facelift operations. However, this procedure can also be performed alone for patients who do not have sagging skin on their face but have on their neck. If there a person has stacks on the corner of the chin, as well as sagging skin and excess fat accumulation on the neck, he/she is a suitable candidate for neck lift. Neck lift is a surgical procedure that can be performed on everyone suffering from this problem, without any age limitation. However, it is usually performed on patients over 40 years of age.

Neck lift is a surgical procedure performed under general anesthesia. As the first step of neck lift surgery, the patient is anesthetized under general anesthesia. During this, the patient feels no pain. The patient’s skin is incised from the front and back of the earlobe. The neck skin is released and the wrinkles are eliminated. Then the excess skin is removed, the neck is stretched and the edges are sutured.

Neck lift operations are usually performed under local or general anesthesia. Such operations take one hour on average. Thanks to anesthesia, the patient feels no pain. Only a mild pain may be felt on the first postoperative day, due to the effect of edema and tightness; however, it can be immediately controlled with simple painkillers. The patient can be discharged the same day or the day after surgery. After the first postoperative day, patients can easily take a shower and continue their daily life. Swelling and bruises disappear within a week. Sutures are removed on the 7th postoperative day.

The effect of neck lift is permanent. It lasts for about 5 to 6 years. Since the aging process continues during this process, the tightened skin will get loose to a certain extent. However, you will never return back to your previous state. After neck lift surgery, there will be scars in front of and behind the ear. The scars will not be noticeable and visible from the outside because they will be in the natural transition zones.

If you smoke, you have to stop smoking three weeks before neck lift surgery. The use of blood thinners like aspirin should also be stopped one week before surgery. If the patient has diabetes and hypertension, such conditions should be taken under control in the preoperative period.
