Hair transplantation is a surgical technique that removes hair follicles from one part of the body, called the ‘donor site’, to a bald or balding part of the body known as the ‘recipient site’. The technique is primarily used to treat male pattern, baldness. In this minimally invasive procedure, grafts containing hair follicles that are genetically resistant to balding (like the back of the head) are transplanted to the bald scalp. Hair transplantation can also be used to restore eyelashes, eyebrows, beard hair, chest hair, pubic hair and to fill in scars caused by accidents or surgery such as face-lifts and previous hair transplants. Hair transplantation differs from skin grafting in that grafts contain almost all of the epidermis and dermis surrounding the hair follicle, and many tiny grafts are transplanted rather than a single strip of skin.
Is hair transplant suitable for everyone?
Not everyone who suffers from alopecia can benefit from a treatment of hair transplant. There are different types of alopecia and in some cases can be contraindicated. For this reason, it is very important to study of the reasons of alopecia. The universal alopecia or the alopecia’s area are two types of alopecia in which a hair transplant would not add any benefit.
Your hair transplantation in Istanbul
The duration of the hair transplant procedure is 3 days.
The first day:
The first day the patient arrives to Istanbul. Our driver takes him from airport, leads to hotel to rest and to be prepared for the next day’s operation.
The second day:
The patient is taken to the hospital for the procedure. Hair transplantation and therapy of PRP are done on that day. To know if the patient who wants to have a hair transplantation has a contagious disease, blood tests are done before the operation, a few minutes later the result of the blood analysis arrives and if everything is normal (if person does not have any contagious disease like HIV or AIDS), the head of the patient is shaved and procedure starts.
The design will be established in mutual agreement with the patient and within the parameters of normality. A natural frontal line is fixed according to the shape of the face, it is declared the quantity of grafts extracted of the donor area and the distribution plan during the transplant procedure. When applying local anesthesia in the donor zone, follicular units are removed from the area with the help of micro motor. The transplant starts with the frontal line and all the follicular units are placed in the channels. After the operation is done, the necessary medical dressing is made. There are medicines are given to use after the surgery and the issues with which one must be careful are discussed, and the patient is taken to the hotel to rest.
The third day:
The first wash of the hair is done by our doctor and it is explained how to wash hair for 10 days. A set of personal care is given to the patient. Our patient is taken to the airport to return to his country.
We offer the most advanced techniques in hair transplantation, the FUE and DHI.
Our medical team have more than 10 years of experience with more than 10.000 cases.
We do all our treatments in one of the best hospitals with JCI Certification in Turkey.
THE STAGES OF HAIR TRANSPLANTATION
To know if the patient who wants to have hair transplantation, requires some blood analysis before operation to check infectious diseases, a few minutes later the results of the tests arrive and if everything is normal, the patient’s head is shaved and the operation begins.
1.THE PROCEDURE OF EXTRACTION
The patient stays prone position (lie down) and it is applied local anesthesia in the donor area, the follicular units are taken from donor area with the help of micro motor.
2.THE PROCEDURE OF OPENING CHANNELS AND DESIGN OF THE DONOR AREAS
The design will be established in mutual agreement with the patient and within the parameters of normality. A natural frontal line is fixed according to the shape of the face, it is declared the quantity of grafts extracted of the donor area and the distribution plan during the transplant procedure.
The channels are opened by the top of SAPPHIRE in the receiving areas.
3.THE PROCEDURE OF HAIR TRANSPLANT
The transplant starts with the front line and all the follicular units are placed in the channels.
What is the FUE technique?
We can define the hair transplant with the FUE technique as the capillary micro graft technique for a systematic redistribution of the hair follicles that consists of the introduction of small scalp grafts with the so-called “follicular units”.
These grafts are obtained with local anesthesia of the posterior and/or lateral area of the scalp (what we call donor zones) and after thoroughly preparing them under the microscope, they are carefully introduced by micro incisions in the bald or alopecic areas which would evolve towards baldness (the receptor areas)
What is the DHI technique?
A pen-shaped implant is used to position the follicular units and this way there is obtained better precision of the angle of position and a better density in the area to be transplanted. The main advantage of this technique is the increase in density that can be achieved in the receiving area and more natural as the extracted units go through a cleaning process.
ATTENTION!: The clinic that is exclusively dedicated to the FUE technique can not advise you in an objective way since, it is not the only technique that allows to solve baldness problems. The hospital must use and propose the TWO technics (FUE or DHI) to be able to advise and give the best solution to their patients according to each case.
What is PRP therapy? What is PRP therapy?
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) therapy for hair loss a three-step medical treatment in which a patient’s blood is drawn, processed, and then injected into the scalp. Some in the medical community think that PRP injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and increasing the thickness of the hair shaft. Sometimes this approach is combined with other hair loss procedures or medications. There has not been enough research to prove if PRP is an effective hair loss treatment. Although there hasn’t been much scientific research done on PRP for hair loss, PRP therapy has been in use since the 1980s. It has been used for problems such as healing injured tendons, ligaments, and muscles.
PRP therapy process
PRP therapy is a three-step process. Most PRP therapy requires three treatments 4–6 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments are required every 4–6 months.
